KHUFU, the debut short film by Mahmoud Assi, is set to make its World Premiere in the International Competition at the 78th Locarno Film Festival. Centered around a 14-year-old boy navigating family, tradition, and survival in the shadow of the iconic Giza Pyramids, the film offers a deeply human story of resilience and coming of age.
Produced through a collaboration between Zest, Figleaf, and an international team of filmmakers from Egypt, France, Sweden, and Canada, KHUFU marks another proud milestone for Egyptian cinema on the global stage.
