A Victory in Rome: “One More Show” Triumphs with Audience & Best Production Awards!
The Egyptian-Palestinian documentary ‘One More Show’, directed by Mai Saad and Ahmed El-Danaf, has scored major wins at the Rome International Documentary Festival, taking home both the Audience Award and Best Production Award. The film competed in the festival’s “World-Doc” official competition, marking its international premiere after debuting at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival.
The feature-length documentary is a first for both Saad—an Egyptian filmmaker who began her career as an assistant director—and El-Danaf, a Gazan cinematographer whose short film *A School Day* earned the Youssef Chahine Award at CIFF 2024.
*One More Show* follows the remarkable journey of the Free Gaza Circus—Youssef, Batout, Ismail, Muhammad, and Jast—who transform their performances into acts of resistance and hope for displaced children amid the devastation in Gaza.
The film previously received the Youssef Cherif Rizkallah Audience Award at CIFF, alongside a Directing Award from the Future Generation Awards in collaboration with *The Film Verdict*.
Produced by Baho Bakhsh and Safie El-Din Mahmoud, with Mohamed Hefzy (Film Clinic) as co-producer, the film is shot by El-Danaf, Youssef Mashharawi, and Mahmoud Mashharawi, edited by Sara Abdullah, with sound design by Mustafa Shaaban and color by Ahmed Abu Al-Fadl. Global distribution is handled by Film Clinic Indie Distribution.
