MedFest Egypt Announces 2025 Short Film Jury Led by Former Berlinale Director!
The 7th edition of MedFest Egypt (Sept 17–21, AUC Tahrir Square) will spotlight the theme “Transitions”, with 31 films from 15 countries competing in its official short film competition.
The jury will be chaired by Mariette Rissenbeek, former director of the Berlin International Film Festival, alongside Sameh Alaa (Palme d’Or-winning director), Yousra El Lozy (award-winning actress), Marwan Omara (filmmaker and program director at Coventry Cairo), and Dr. Olfat Allam (consultant psychologist).
Founder Dr. Mina El-Naggar emphasized MedFest’s mission of merging cinema with health awareness, while Rissenbeek praised the festival’s unique focus on mental and physical wellbeing in film, calling it “an honour” to lead the jury.
