Two decades after the original El Selem W El Tebaan captured the hearts of Egyptian audiences, filming is now underway for El Selem W El Tebaan: Ahmed & Malak, a contemporary reimagining produced by Mousa Essa under the RAW Entertainment banner.
Starring leading talents Amr Youssef and Asmaa Galal, the film brings together a dynamic ensemble cast including Maged Al Masry, Hatem Salah, Fadwa Abed, Heba Abd El Aziz, and Aya Sleem. With filming set to conclude by mid-July, the much-anticipated release is expected to hit theaters across Egypt and the Arab region later this year.
Though not a direct sequel, Essa emphasizes that this new installment captures the emotional essence of its predecessor while introducing an entirely fresh narrative and characters. “It’s a bold, contemporary take on love and relationships—one that mirrors the complexities and rhythms of today’s generation,” he noted.
Penned by screenwriter Ahmed Hosny and directed by the acclaimed Tarek Al Arian, Ahmed & Malak promises to be more than a nostalgic nod—it stands as a timely and resonant exploration of modern romance, identity, and connection in a fast-evolving cultural landscape.
