Galerie Son Announces Dual Solo Exhibitions by Britt Boutros Ghali in Berlin and Seoul.
Galerie Son is proud to present two solo exhibitions by acclaimed Egyptian-Norwegian artist Britt Boutros Ghali, opening in Berlin and Seoul in 2025. The Berlin show will debut on May 1 during Gallery Weekend and run through June 28, with Seoul dates to follow.
A leading figure in European abstract expressionism, Boutros Ghali’s work fuses gestural abstraction, vivid color, and richly textured materials, reflecting her personal history and cultural influences—from the landscapes of Scandinavia to the spirit of Egypt, her home since the 1970s. Her commanding, poetic canvases radiate movement, intensity, and a profound spiritual energy.
The Berlin exhibition marks her first solo presentation in Germany since the 1970s, featuring new works that continue her lifelong exploration of color, gesture, and symbolism.
“We are honored to bring Britt back to Germany,” said Max Koffler, director of Galerie Son. “Her paintings resonate across generations and cultures.”
“I’m thrilled to return to Berlin and work with Galerie Son,” Boutros Ghali shared. “Germany has always been kind to me, and I’m excited to present this new body of work.”
Celebrated internationally for over six decades, Britt Boutros Ghali was knighted in Norway’s Royal Order of St. Olav in 1996 and honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Egyptian National Council for Women in 2023.
